Technical Rescue Teams are trained in several different disciplines to protect and serve the citizens and visitors of Dothan and provide mutual aid across Alabama. They provide specialized emergency response services such as: Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, Farm Machinery Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, and Wilderness Search Rescue. Not included in this is Dive Rescue that Dothan also supports.
This is over 320 hours of additional training above being a firefighter/EMT or paramedic. The technical rescue team has responded to several mutual aid requests/deployment which include: Hurricane Katrina, Enterprise High School Tornado, and Birmingham Tornado. Technical rescue team members are also certified HazMat Technicians
